The Sangguniang Panlungsod – Library Services Division will be celebrating the 33rd Library and Information Services Month (LISM) this whole of November with the theme: “LETS Libraries: Learning, Empowering, and Transforming Society Through Libraries”. This has been celebrated by libraries in the Philippines since 1991 through Presidential Proclamation 837 series of 1991. We will also be celebrating the 89th National Book Week on November 24-30 with the theme: “Read, Reread, Relive!”
As we join in these celebrations to raise public awareness of the value of our public library and the importance of its services, resources, and facilities, we provide to our constituents the following activities for this month:
– Storytelling sessions in public elementary schools
– Pabasa sa Plaza Heneral Santos
– 40-hour Digital Literacy Training to PWDs (in coordination with CMO-PDAO)
– Book Donation Drive
– National Book Week’s Daily Word Puzzle Game for on-site clients (with prizes)
