The Sangguniang Panlungsod of General Santos City will be filing a motion for reconsideration at the regional office of the Department of Budget and Management 12 (DBM 12) to contest its earlier opinion of declaring certain sections of the Vice Mayor’s Offices’ budget inoperable. The budget is intended for the salary of the Job Order workers assigned at the Sangguniang Panlungsod. “Kamong mga Job Order, ayaw mo kaguol sa katong giingon na inoperative (ang budget). I am not a bit alarmed by the issue of that supplemental budget being inoperative. That is subject to a motion for reconsideration. We have enough data to prove that the said item is not new (items in the budget),” Nanay Lita assured the workers of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. It can be remembered that the issue of the salary of job order workers started when Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao vetoed the budget for the salary of Job Order workers under the Vice Mayor’s Office.
