GENERAL SANTOS CITY (December 4, 2023) – The 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod of General Santos City condemns the suspected terroristic attacks in Mindanao State University-Main Campus in Marawi City which resulted in the death of several students and caused injuries to many more. Councilor Jane Rivera led the condemnation of the attack during the 60th Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and requested all the members of the council and attendees to join in a minute of silence, remembrance, and prayer. ” I would like to move that this council should strongly condemn the violent incident at the MSU Marawi Gym on December 03, 2023, that took four innocent lives and injured more than 50 individuals. The perpetrators of this crime must be held accountable to the full extent of the law. Another resolution should be passed to express deep condolences to the families of those who perished in this terror attack! I so move with the presiding officer as the co-author and all councilors as sponsors,” Councilor Rivera said.
